Driver Training

The OSTC Driver Training Program consists of five modules each focusing on a specific aspect of security driving.  Modules are designed to be taken in succession.  Each module serves as a foundation for subsequent modules, although, some modules, depending upon student qualifications and needs, can be taken as stand-alone courses. Students can select from courses that prepare them for Permissive Environments (Low Risk) or Non-Permissive Environments (High Risk).

Training begins with an introduction to Situational Awareness and Surveillance Detection.  This module provides students with a method of examining the interrelationship between an individual, the task to perform and the environment to perform in.  Students also learn a systematic methodology designed to identify hostile surveillance by discovering the type of surveillance being used against them.

The program progresses to driving practicals where students develop vehicle control and evasive driving skills.  Based upon course selection, students may also develop response skills to attacks on motor vehicles or train at night using Night Vision Goggles (NVGs).  Finally, students participate in realistic scenario based training requiring participants to analyze potential attack scenarios, develop proper responses, and to execute their responses on track, behind the wheel, and in supporting roles.
