Program Managment
Olive Group utilizes a common process framework and program management structure to accomplish the work. Our approach includes a proven process control and improvement methodology based on regular reporting to document training progress, and recommend improvements to all program activities. Olive Group’s Management Process for Training has three major components:
Risk Management
Olive Group follows the guidelines outlined in the DOD Acquisition Risk Management Guide to identify, analyze, and mitigate program risks. We implement this process via the following steps.
Quality Assurance
Olive Group’s methodology for quality assurance follows the Deming four step cycle: Plan–Do–Check–Act. This methodology, described below, is simple, effective and adaptable to the training requirements of the client.
During training blocks, Olive Group staff will meet periodically with representatives of the client’s contracting office to provide updates on any issues affecting the training. When deficiencies are identified, Olive Group, in consultation with the client’s contracting office will determine what actions to take to correct or prevent recurrence of non-conformance at a degree appropriate to the importance of the non-conformance and proportionate to the risks encountered. Changes to documented procedures resulting from corrective and preventative actions will be implemented and recorded. Continuous process improvement is important and we strive to isolate nonconformities or problem areas.
Safety
Olive Group is dedicated to ensure safe and quality training to the client. We have established range safety, medical emergency and quality control plans that are fully detailed below. OSTC range control has developed an SOP for all ranges and tracks on the facility which outlines all safety procedures. This list includes small arms paper and steel ranges, live fire driving track ranges, counter ambush ranges, breaching ranges and shoot houses, and use of IEDs, simunitions, and live firing on the tracks. These documents explain which caliber weapons and types of ammunition are acceptable, safety equipment to be worn, proximity of firing point to targets, communications, medical and emergency procedures.
Medical Plan
As part of our comprehensive safety plan, a medical emergency plan is in place. Our facility is 13 miles from a Level 2 trauma hospital (Crittenden County Memorial located at 200
In the event of injury, facility staff will immediately offer first aid and determine if outside assistance is required. Minor injuries i.e. cuts, abrasions, etc. may be treated at the scene and referred to an outside medical provider for follow-up care. The Range Safety Officer (RSO) will investigate all injuries occurring at the facility and document all findings.
Injuries requiring medical attention will be handled by local air or ground emergency personnel from the Crittenden County Sheriffs Office, Air Evac Life Team or Memphis Air Wing. OSTC is a member of the Air Evac Life Team and their helicopters are on call during training or on-site during certain high risk activities. A medic will be on site during all driving training. Olive’s detailed MEDEVAC plan is available for review upon request.
